About Me

I was born and raised in the Washington, DC area.  As the daughter of a Fine Artist, it was no surprise I was going to be an artist in some discipline.  I am driven to make people happy and was known to perform for visitors.  So acting it was.

In the early 70s, my Mother got a job as a guard at the Phillips Collection in Washington, DC.  We moved into a flat across the street from the Phillips.  My Mother was raised in Texas.  After marrying my Father, they moved from Texas to the suburbs of Virginia in the early 1950s.  My Mother taught and painted when she had a break from raising children.  This move into DC was her ticket from the confines of her suburban life.  Her chance to be a real artist.  This was her leap into her fully realized career.  As it turned out, it was just the beginning of a long meandering road to success.  It took her over a decade to earn her Master’s Degree in Art Criticism.    Although she was a full time artist, she didn’t hit her stride until her 70s earning a solo show at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in 2000.  She was able to live comfortably till the end of her life.   My Mother passed away in the spring of 2015.

If you can see your path laid out in front of you step by step, you know it’s not your path. Your own path you make with every step you take. That’s why it’s your path
— Joseph Campbell

I know this is my bio.  Why am I talking about my Mother?  Well, mainly because her story is inspiring to me.  Being an artist is a lifelong process.  Each of us have hills and valleys to navigate.  I cared for my Mother for the last few years of her life, which meant I gave up my career.  My Mother left me with the opportunity to pursue my career full time, but for only a limited time.  This is MY LEAP.  Until moving back to care for my Mother in 2004, I’ve had a meandering career path in Technical Theatre, Fundraising and Marketing and large Festivals.  While these jobs were rewarding and paid the bills, they didn’t represent my passion, Acting.  More than that, these jobs took me off of my path as an actress.  Now, I’m getting my chance to be a full time Actor, but the world of landing work has changed significantly.  I’m an older actress taking on a new technology in order to submit for jobs.  This is totally overwhelming!  Honestly, it’s scary.  I look like an idiot all of the time.  It doesn’t matter.  I am doing it.  The truth is no one recognize the mistakes you make, only you.

This is my invitation to you, my sweet visitor to my website.  Share in my meandering road to regaining my career in a brand new world and technology.  I hope to inform and entertain.  So thank you for visiting my site.
